The "new" version of my 7.5hp Campbell Hausfeld is $2600. Isn't IR supposed to be more "premium" than CH? If so, then that's probably a legit price.

It's a 3-phase unit, too - dunno if that makes it more expensive. The CH unit I'm thinking of is single phase.

Yeah, they're not exactly cheap.

Portland's Craigslist had a REAL nice 7.5HP air compressor for around $400 a month or two ago. Spacing on the brand at the moment, but it was a quality unit, not ****.

Only problem, it was 3-phase.

Seller was offering the Phase-A-Matic unit he used, but wanted $1200 for it. :wtf:

Bwhahahah.

I can get a brand new DevAir (formerly Develbus canada) for less than that overpriced IR.

Some people are nuts. Do they actually think a person serious enough to spend 3k on a compressor wont do a little research first? (dont answer that lol)

Wasn't IR generally accepted to be "better" than Devilbiss?

old IR was decent.Very good compressor. THere were lots of Devilbis around though too. As to which was better id say it was even. New IR... not so much.

These Devairs (now DVsystems spun off in 1990) HDI models are tanks. Same basic design for like 50 years. Big hunk of cast iron, plus theyre made here. With IR who knows now.

Lots of info on the company and their history there
