Is this hex socket normal?

I called Snap On to get a replacement bit for my 1/8" hex socket that was broken. It turns out they no longer offer replacement bits for the style I have so they offered to replace the whole socket. I thought this was great until I got this socket in the mail. It almost looks broken off. The end of it isn't cut evenly at all. Do you guys think I should call SO back about this? My concern is that if I'm dealing with an already half stripped out bolt that this thing isn't going to sit in there straight and grab on. That's where the SO bits have always excelled for me. When I've dealt with bolts that are starting to strip they seem to do a better job of getting them out than other brands.

Bench grind it square in 5 seconds and you are done. Honestly, if you want to make a point to Snap On, I get it. They charge so much and claim to be the gold standard of auto mechanics tools. But what is your goal. That should be hard steel so you will likely dull your file on it. Beat the **** out of it and then ask for a new one when it is broke or worn out. Life is too short! Have a good week end.

Whoa, whoa, whoa, stop making sense. Snap-on only produces top-notch, best quality tools with outrageous prices. It is unthinkable for some hillbilly mechanic to go at anything "snap-on" with a dirty old bench grinder!

If it is hardened properly you will risk ruining your file. Unless you use a diamond file and that could take some time.
If you don't let it get red you should be fine.

Why worry, the bottom of the bit has absolutely nothing to do with how the hex engages the fastener.
