bought this for $25 to tackle some DIY projects. It works and is the perfect size for me. Any info on this model (OR-1012 / 354062). Thanks

I agree, maybe not vintage but I did learn it was produced in 1989. The drill press was pretty grungy when I bought and I spent a lot of time cleaning it
I did do a little research for a manual/parts list, but came up short.

At that time Taiwanese stuff was thought of like much of the Chinese stuff now. Low quality in comparison to say a delta or Powermatic. It is actually much better than the Chinese stuff, and now the Powermatic/jet are the same thing and delta is Chinese (i believe)

I think that jet started sell drill presses in 81 or 82

I have 2 that look similar to that but both have cranks to move the table up and down and made in Japan. One is a JET and the other has some other name on it. I think they're from the 70s.

or worth more than $25
That's a bit harsh. I've found the Jet line to be worth their retail asking. Occasionally, a real deal (and $25 for that DP is a real deal in my book) comes along. My machinist friend picked up this gear head 20" for $250, because it's three-phase. Retails for $5,600.

I disagree. I have an older Jet jointer, made in Taiwan, and it's far better than the USA-made Craftsman that it replaced. The castings are very high grade and have not developed any rust in my basement--unlike virtually all the other Asian imported machines from that era that I've seen.

I would easily drop $25 or even x4 for that DP.

Modern cheap Asian DPs are made to lower standards with cheaper thinner materials.

The consumer grade Jet stuff is okay...not super quality but not terrible.
I have run some Industrial Jet equipment that was quite well made. Milling machines, lathes etc.
