Is this Kobalt 3/8" ratchets anything special?

Is this US made Kobalt just Danaher made or is it the Williams nee Snap-On version?

It's a later Danaher version. They're ok, but not nearly as good as the Williams version pictured above. They changed over to Danaher sometime in 2002 or early 2003 best I remember.

Not the Williams version. That looked like this:

Not exactly. That ratchet is from the Williams imported line. That ratchet is made in Taiwan and I believe the similarities to the Kobalt ratchets are only cosmetic. The Williams made USA Kobalts had a somewhat similar handle, but were otherwise different.
