Is this lathe a deal?

It's a little bigger than I would like right now but I don't ever see myself saying "I wish I had a smaller lathe". It looks like there is a fair amount of tooling and I have to head out that way after a drill press and a table saw I already bought. Would this lathe have babbit bearings? Or some type of insert? It doesn't look like it would have bearings. But what do I know?

That looks like a Hell of a deal to me. For the money, for a South Bend, and for all that goes with it, I'd be all over that!!!!

I like the look of the old flat belts and it looks like someone did a decent job of adding the electric motor. Takes up more space but I could probably modifiy it to take up less of a footprint.

I think that's a good deal for a machine of that size if it's operational and in decent shape.

Unfortunately machines that age and size do not go for much money. That's why he is asking what he is asking.
Now if you can handle a machine that size and can handle moving it....as a machine to use that's a great deal. You will Likly have a hard time selling it later when you want to part with it. But till then use the hell out of it

It's definitely old, which I'm sure makes parts harder yet to find. Make sure bearings, etc aren't all shot.
