If in good shape and undamaged, YES. Very good box.

Price? $500-$800 I'd say depending on a few variables.

Ah...OK. Awesome. Asking price is 1200. So, kinda steep. That's very interesting to me. I would pay 700-800, but everyone on FB seems to be asking 1200+.

Asking price and what something actually sells for are 2 completely different things.

If he is asking $1200 and it is really nice inside, start bargaining and it likely you could drive away with it for $800.

It is an excellent box and that would be over $1500 here used.

Personally if you got it for 1k, it would be a good deal IMHO. I love Matco and Cornwell boxes.

couple nasty rust scabs on it .
nice boxes but condition is everything when comes to the price crunch.
I would say around 700 for that but you got look in person to truly know, could be lot worse in person or you surprised how good most of it is .
I been using 3 MB7525 and a MB85 series all bought used for over 2 decades and they proper solid boxes that still working fine in my daily auto repair shop .

Get some cash, go see the guy and tell him it's your anniversary tomorrow and all you can afford is $800 for the little lady's gift. That will break the ICE and you can start talking.
That's the worst kind of ******** approach as a buyer. If 800 is the limit just offer 800.

******** begets ********.

30 year old, rusty box - price is crazy high.

Personally, I wouldn't even bother - it's almost guaranteed to be worse than pictured. Even if you got it for half price you'd come out spending more than $1,200 in terms of time / cost if you were to try to restore it or fix the big rust spot on one of the drawers. I'm not really a Harbor Freight fan, but I'd buy one of their boxes over this - then you'd get something new.

I am in sales. I know how to negotiate, but I have to be in person to do it well. I just wanted to get a fair price from you guys. I did not mean to cause an argument or imply I was going to try to hose the guy.

I added another picture. Look at the left bottom side of the box. He says thats not rust, but it looks like its either rusted through or damaged. I am waiting for closer pics.

looks like bottom edge been knocked up and rusting due to paint damage .
Don't compare these to HF boxes lol, these older Matco boxes are proper stout made.
I'm a big fan of the MB7525 and MB8525, got 4 Matco boxes in daily use all of which purchased used and they doing great, decades of daily use no issue ,
I would guess this listed box worth around 500 if you happy living with or fixing dings and rust scabs and other likely issues, perhaps 650/700 if everything else is excellent but I doubt it is, go look and you will know for sure ...
Only way do price negotiation well on used items is in person after inspecting thoroughly, pictures and sellers lie big time .

He won’t talke $500. This is Texas and it seems some slightly newer ones have asking prices of 2,500-5,000. Maybe they’ll take less but they are listed as firm and I don’t have time to fool with people who have emotional attachments to their boxes and work that into the price. These boxes will hit 800+ in this condition. If it’s mint, it will go for more. I just need to find someone who will take less my best deals are low balls taken because someone’s wife made them clean out the garage. lol.

Right now there is a guy Selling a kra-650, kra-655 and a kra-290 side box for 2500 bucks. Hahaha…..good luck with that.

Sometimes I throw out offers like 800 and then wait for a month until it’s still for sale and ask again. I got time.

That left side looks like maybe someone bent it up trying to pry it up over something moving it. He's asking the typical price it would go for around here.

This box is an updated version of my main box. My drawer pulls are in the middle of the box instead on top like this box has. I can't speak for the gauge of steel in this box. I will tell you that no box today made by anyone is as robust as the box I have. I would offer $800.00 and go from there. I'm currently looking for a third box and would love to have this one.
Mine has some rust on it. Some day when I get time. I'll remove the rust and dents and repaint it. I bought mine off a Snap On truck. I also replaced two slides that Matco took care of with no cost to me.
