I found this UEI microamp adapter while searching for an inexpensive DMM with microamp capability. At first glance it seems like it would be a popular item for checking flame sensors using a standard DMM, but I’m wondering if it would be accurate enough. It doesn’t appear to be a widely used item as I’m not exactly tripping over sources. Amazon shows it as unavailable and there’s only one listed on Ebay. Makes me wonder if others know something I don’t?

Early flame rectification systems needed a 7-10 microamp signal to function. This was hard to maintain in filed, and caused alot of drop-outs if the sensor got the least bit dirty. So, the manufacturers went to much higher sensitivity (1 microamp or less) and the nuisance drop-out disappeared.

Perhaps this adaptor is a "current multiplier" of sorts to get that very small current up to a level where a typical meter can read it?
