Right side of pic, vertical piece inside of door.
Notch was cut into this vertical piece by an &^#@). Is this structural and does this size notch matter?
Should it be filled with something?
It was cut to fit the bottom horizontal trim piece(instead of cutting the trim piece more).
As of now, that trim piece would slide into it.
Also, originally, the weather strip was nailed to some 2x4s that were run horizontally, between drywall and
garage door.
Did they provide any type of support as now the trim piece would be extended and the weather strip
nailed to that.
And is the exposed beam in center of underside going full length supportive? It was never resting on anything, originally,only screwed
into above piece. New one is done, similarly(I think).
Tried to find diagrams of what is structural and not but could not find something that matched up with
a definiteive answer. If there is a good source for this, will have a look to not further waste anyone's time.
