Yes it's cracked and some repairs were made.
It really depends on how much YOU like it. If it's something you really want to restore and not resale, then it might be worth it but it looks like it's going to take a lot to bring it back. If it's something you plan on selling, you'll never get your money back.

If I had it I might go for it... just depends on how useful I thought it would be after restoring it. I'm thinking for most automotive jobs it would work OK. And of course it depends on how much time you want to put into it. Old machines generally have great bones, and stripping and repainting them sometimes makes them gorgeous pieces of shop-art.

How hard are you planning on using it, and how's your still at welding cast steel? That's how I'd look at it... since I could never get the hang of welding cast, I'd pass on it, but someone else may be able to pull it back to life. Also if you're not pulling 100 tons instantly from it, it may last considerably longer than something used to press in bearing races.
My question is what it was doing when the frame cut loose. That may tell you if it's worth saving as a worker, or if it's relegated to the yard art category.

It looks as if it has been beefed up and used after the crack so it may not be bad for light duty work the way it is. It would depend on how bad the pump and cylinder is before I would even start on trying to weld the crack. What is the date on the plate?

If it was dirt cheap or free I would take a chance on it. Otherwise I wouldn't really attempt it due to the fact it's going to take a bit of work to get it loaded, taken apart, and fixed. Let alone if you decide to give it a freshening up. But that's just my take on it due to the fact I've got a stupid amount of projects that I would rather finish. Heck I just now in the last 2 years got my brake set up so I can use it versus it lying on the floor. That's just getting it usable, didn't repaint it or anything. I've had that danged thing for 10 years!!!

If you take pics holding your phone up and down, they post sideways. If you take pics holding the phone sideways, the pics post properly. This is the only forum I've ever been to that does it like that. And I think it's a somewhat recent change.
