I just bought a new 1/2'' drive ratchet. It is very difficult to turn it with fingers. Fortunately there is no problem to work on the lugs.
Is this normal, or something wrong with the teeth? Just wondering if I need to return it. Thanks for advice.

I wouldn't consider it normal. I've got ratchets from new snap on down to old rusty Chinese no name ones and unless there's something wrong with it, I've always been able to turn the ratchet with my fingers. Sounds like the pawl might be a little out of place.

My guess is he's doing the best he can, from Cali so probably English is his #2 language. How many of you guys can say what he says in Spanish?

I have a 1/4 drive S-K flex thats a bit stiff in a spot when you turn it.
It should "break-in" though. I'd bet these are likely late production made before they went bankrupt.

I had bought a new S-O GS936 and it took some time to wear in. It was pretty stiff as well. Now it's perfect.

Soak it in a can of trans fluid for a few days. Then let it stand over dome paper towels for a few days more.

I ended up with the new style over the old.

volunteers It there a pin holding the head on or a torx bolt?

It's a torx bolt holding the head. Is it new style or old?
After some use today, now things change a bit. I can turn it with fingers, but it is stiff in one position for every round. What the problem could be?
