Does this look like a good deal the guy is selling a snap on box with a range of tools from snap on to mac to Irwin to Stanley. He is asking $170 seams like a good deal if there are snap on stuff in there but it looks like he spray painted the tools red can that come off?

You can take the paint off with: acetone, goof-off, carb clean, wire wheel, scotchbrite, paint thinner, lacquer thinner, etc

It looks like a good deal, and the paint on the tools should come off with some thinner.

Has nothing moved since the paint? I don't get it...

That's one hell of an inventory control system

He said put them in a bucket of gas i want to know why he would spray paint the tools weird.

It's a lot better than them all being covered with engravings....

I mean how hard is it actually to remove some spray paint.

I bought a set of Craftsman swivel sockets that were covered in gold paint along with the plastic case.

Lacquer thinner took it right off both the sockets and the plastic case without doing any damage to the plastic.
Sockets in bulk can be dumped into a bucket of solvent to remove the paint.

It doesn't take too many good tools in there to make that a very good deal.
You need to go look and take money with you

brake fluid will take the spray paint off chrome in a few hours. Lots of construction and shared tool shops would spray paint them so its easy to spot.

A lot of it looks like craftsman

Soak them in Dot 3 brake fluid over night then the paint will just wipe off them, plus it will free up any rust and it will give the ratchets a good cleaning inside without taking them apart, and not do any damage to the rubber and plastic. it is what I always use

I think you got a smoking good deal, the very first house I bought years ago tons of people were turned off by the worst colors from the outside to every room in the house. The guy had the master bedroom painted in bordello red with mirrors , the bathroom was some kind of shrine and he painted Mt. Fuji on another bedroom wall. Downstairs he painted dark brown another room six shades of mint green.

The outside was vomit yellow (good thing I was color blind) tons of clean-up over a year on the inside and later on the outside turned it into a showplace.

Glad everyone was turned off, op clean them up and enjoy them!:thumbup:
