I have wanted one of these for a long time. I finally scored one off eBay for a price that I could live with. It's a titanium socket used for taking off single wheel nuts on Indy cars. These sockets run $1500 new, and the impact gun they fit on cost $4500. :scared:

I'm like a kid at Christmas!! :bounce:

That is a really neat piece. Can you personally use it or is it simply a collectors item/ conversation piece? Either way, congrats on your find!

It can't be used, unless you have a Indy or similar type car laying around. :D It makes one hell of a pen holder.

If I didn't know better, I would've guessed it was the base of a faucet that's supposed to fit into a hole on the kitchen sink.

What's the drive size?

Got a close up of the writing on the socket?

Do those prongs move, or are they just designed to engage with the wheel nut in any orientation?

1" drive. Solid prongs with magnets around the rim. The socket is made by Metalore.

Looks like a shower head that hasn't been completely assembled yet... ;)

This gun is capable of tightening a hub nut in less than one second, making pit stops a breeze.

The guns run about 350 PSI ... :pimpflash

very cool!
Acquiring mating nut ought to be a piece of cake. Time to make a display of it, perhaps for an office desk conversation piece.

You guys did hear "Titanium", right? Heck, I'd take a titanium shower head!! :D

I think the water at my place would corrode even titanium. Either that or just crud it up with some sort of mold/mildew.

Nice find. When are you getting the car to go with it?

I'm still on their as an accomplice under 'Brendan', but all I do now is read and lurk haha.

I haven't been happier in my life than when I left that place. Not one single person ever contacted me when I left. If you knew what went on behind the scenes you'd be sick. I really wanted to be a Suspect, but when I became one I regretted it after finding out how they thought about other members.

You know what they say, be careful what you wish for. ;)

I like your Surefire pen! Haven't seen one of those around in ages!

Thanks! From my days on the USN... Hard to believe I was a "Suspect" there and now I'm not even a member. :lol_hitti
