I figured I'd start a new one where pack rats like me can post stuff they are thinking about tossing but may get ideas from some of our many creative and helpful community.
I'll start with the Ikea pants hanger, I think thats what it is. My plan is to
cut it up save the plastic sleeves the rods and take off the drawer slides (pulls out)
UNLESS I hear some good ideas using it somehow as is or modified.
Just seems a bit too light weight for shop stuff.

I am NOT creative so I can't answer your question.

I DO think this is a great thread that should be kept at the top. We can seek advice about questionable items and maybe even offer them to people who want them for the cost of shipping or a few dollars.

A place I worked at years back had a similar rack that we used to hang test cables from. Might not be the right thing for anything heavy, but maybe on an electronics bench?
