I'm building a good sized 3 car garage: 26' x 40'. Full four foot wall with footing foundation. Concrete guy who has done work for us before wants $11k for all concrete work, including excavating. That includes digging, wall, floor, backfill, grading. Anchor bolts in and ready for framing. Estimates for all materials, which include lumber, fiber cement siding to match house, better quality 9x8 doors, windows, architectural shingles, etc. come to $10K.

The question is I'll be all in $21,000. 1040 square feet, 9' ceiling, expensive siding, etc. and I was looking for opinions of whether that seems worthwhile for doing all the work myself(excluding concrete)?

Thanks alot

Back in '01 when I had my pole barn built, it cost me just at $15,000 to build. That was the building itself $9,500 (30X50X12 pole barn mind you, and this is '01 prices lol), $3,500 in concrete, and the other $2,000 for electrical and overhead door. My building was to be built as an appliance, as in it is not anywhere near finished or nice, it is my money maker due to my day job pays squat!! This might help some with your pricing, or it may not due to the fact it is 2 different type buildings although similar in size.

Yeah the foundation down to the frost line (36" here) definitely takes the concrete price up significantly.
