Is vise collecting addictive?

My first post! I recently bought an old Parker 955 and already feel the need for another one. My wife asked if I need it, or just want it. She's concerned that they will gather dust behind all my Walker-Turner drill presses, IH cub cadet axles and parts and projects, Onan generators, and misc "stuff." I imagine this will become my new obsession for 2025 but I'm concerned it may become an addiction in my mid-60s. I don't care much for the looks of bullet vises, or the small little 'cute' ones. But I think if I just stick loyal to Parker I may be okay. I'm tractor loyal and have only IH tractors, no Ford or Wheel Horse; none of the three Onans run of course, so I use a Honda i2200. I like the bulky Parker look, maybe a Reed too. Now I'm looking at swivel base models on MarketPlace. Of course I have no where to mount it because my work benches are full of tools. So now I need a new workbench, which is good, and I can do, just will have to look at how high the bench should be if I have a vise on it...34" maybe? Maybe this should be a new thread? I'll research it and get back on the height later. My main concern is if I start collecting, where should I concentrate my efforts? I don't want a pile of vise projects, I want only a few really nice collectable ones that I can mount and actually use. I have no trailer queens! Thanks, I'm in the Reading PA area. Suggestions for the absolutely must-have vises?

Here’s an IH stand I made for a Hollands 46. To answer your question, I have about 50 vises. I’m not even on the radar for the biggest collection on GJ. Good luck! Usually people like the Wilton bullets, Reed R series, and any of the rare models. Craftsman 519X series is popular too.

Snagged a Reed 104 1/2 today for $100. I’m thinking a wire wheel may be better than sand blasting. Much easier for me and I can do it anywhere. Need to learn more about Reed R types as suggested above. Jaws need some work or replaced if possible. Yes, I see this becoming addictive! Thanks for all the help folks!
