A Westward 20" floor drill press with 1 HP is offered on Craigslist for $350. This DP weighs about 350 lbs. This DP
is offered on Amazon for about $960 (incl. shipping), but there's no reviews on it. Also, I Google searched for any information on Westward DP and there's basically nothing on it. Anyone know anything about this brand?

Westward is Grainger's house brand.

Here's the drill press in your CL ad:

http://www.grainger.com/product/WESTWARD-Floor-Drill-Press-1KEN7

Not sure what your Google search term was, but this was the first result for "Westward drill press"

It's made in China, but that doesn't mean it's bad.

For $350, you really can't buy anything new retail that's better. If I was still looking for a drill press, I would jump all over that thing.

If you're interested in a new one, it's cheaper at zoro (owned by grainger ) at $774.50: http://www.zoro.com/i/G1369873/

But even if you get it during one of their 20% off sales, it's still almost double what that used one is. Seems like a great deal if it's in decent shape.

I appreciate the comments I received at this forum. I'm going to call the fella selling the drill press on Craigslist and see about making it mine. Without this forum, I would have passed over the ad thinking the DP was over-priced no name junk.

I always thought Westward was Graingers house brand. All asian imports as far as I ever noticed.
