Hi guys,
I installed a home brew rotary phase converter to power my machinery. I mounted it to a beam in the shop. It's on the outside wall, not outdoors, but outside of the shop area. So the walls and the beam vibrate and it's pretty annoying.
I'm looking to isolate the vibration to the motor. It's mounted directly to pressure treated 2x8. That is mounted to the beam.
I tried a piece of thick carpet which didn't help at all. So, instead of mounting the converter to a different spot in the garage, I figured I'd try to isolate the vibrations from the motor first. 1750rpm 7.5hp 3ph motor with no capacitors yet. It's about 90lbs.
What are good ways to isolate the vibes? I saw rubber washers, sandwiched pads, rubber pads, spring style isolators, etc.
Any and all help is great. Thanks!! I'll add a picture of the setup as well.
