Hey guys,

Having an issue with some 8ft t12 led tubes with rd17 base I got off Amazon causing radio interference with the garage door opener. I realize they are cheap leds but could not find a reputable manufacturer. I ordered some ferrite cores and they don't seem to help. Anyone have either a fix or a reputable manufacturer of led to recommend?

I've used these standalone fixtures in 5 separate garages without any issue:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B012ENQSSI/?tag=atomicindus08-20
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B074CY2HHC/?tag=atomicindus08-20

Also replaced the A19 LED bulb I had in the opener as that seemed to cause issues in colder weather for some reason.
Replaced with these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0758GXHQK/?tag=atomicindus08-20

List of compatible bulbs:

How many wraps around the ferrite did you get?

I've tried wrapping around twice with the ferrite. None of the linked lights will work as I am doing 8ft led in a farm shop. We got mild success with one row of lights being fine by extending the antenna wire a foot.MVIMG_20191210_120252.jpg

In the end, you will find that pulling the old fixtures out and replacing them with cheap LED 4' fixture is the simplest solution.

Not sure what you are going to do with those 8' LED tubes !

Keystone has 8ft tubes with the RD17 ends. Call them and ask them if they meet the RFI standards or not. Google this number KT-LED43T8HO-96G-850-D and you can download a pdf spec sheet. I used their single pin version here at my shop and I have had one of my small ham radio rigs here and have heard no rfi from them. You dont have a location in your profile but I bought mine from the local Rexel supply house.

Pulling down the 8 footers and conduit makes no sense. All I had to do with this retrofit was bypass the ballast. Took longer to wipe down the reflectors than to rewire it.
