Thanks for posting.
I like seeing these.

Nothing stands out for me..
At least HF only gave us 4 pages of lameness.
This is 7 pages of blah.

That %50 off coupon would be better if it wasn't just for items under $30.00.
Still a nice coupon.
Even better that it is for Saturday.

I dunno about your local Ace, but at my local franchisee, 50% off is going to bring the regular price to right around Menards/Lowes/Home Depot's every day price. :/

I love how the Black Friday price on that battery charger is $5 more than Sears had it on sale for last week.

I'll probably go a few days early and pick out some small Craftsman tool I don't need and hide it under a pile of casters or something.

The 5 piece set of GearWrench (ratcheting?) wrenches for $9.99 is pretty good and the Craftsman screwdrivers for $9 is cool too.

I am not sure where the nearest Ace is. I usually go to the local mom and pop hardware store. I will have to find out.

I get the 50% off a singe item up to 30 bucks coupon in the mail a few times per year. I like it. Got it in the mail again a month ago and bought the big channellock tongue and groove pliers for 14 bucks. I don't think you can get them cheaper than that anywhere else.

Well with the 50% off coupon, that means the next month and half is spent getting each and every coupon you can lay your hands on, or print off with color printer.

Then line up bunch of friends / kids to bring with you to Ace that day and spread out purchases to meet the < $30 threshhold. Finally, don't forget all those dusty spots you stashed your goodies over the next few weeks ! :bounce:

As a kid, dad would bring 5 or 6 of our 7 siblings whenever there was 6 qt limit on oil sales. Each kid went through checkout with cash and their 6 qts of Pennzoil !! ;)

I get the ACE 50% pretty often, last time I walked around the store for 45 minutes and bought nothing. Its a door buster for both stores near me, so the store is picked clean, and/or its still cheaper to buy some items other places.

Local Home Depot sure is loading up on the cheap junk for the season, some will be nice once they hit half price.

My Ace has one pair USA left
$24.99 regular price.
Even though I don't weld yet they look cool.

Thanks,
Are they also going to mail the 50$ off coupon?
I don't know.
Maybe they will have some in store.
Usually the Thanksgiving Day newspaper has a ton of ads from all the stores.

I checked out the Gearwrench sets from the ad at my local Ace. They're trying to sell them for $39.99 each right now. They're stamped "Ace Professional" on one side. COO is still Taiwan.

Went by one of the local Aces with a $10 off coupon that came in the post office's moving kit. Grabbed the big $27 Channellocks and went up to the counter...the old guy there refused it, saying that they don't participate in anything Ace puts out.

I asked about the ratcheting wrench sets and the big % off coupons for Black Friday...both no-go.

He said if they did any of the Ace promotions, he'd have to raise prices. That kind of blew me away, since most of his store is already double the price of the box stores down the street.

Check your local store before Friday so you don't end up wasting a trip, I guess.

Then choose not to shop there ever again and hope that works out for him. Seriously, my local ACE has higher prices as well, but they're not stupid.

I shop there for convenience, since it's closer than the nearest box store and their staff usually knows a thing or two about the products they sell. So I consider the price difference compensation for educated personnel.

This. He wants the benefits of being a franchise without any of the "downsides." He gets name recognition, national advertising, and established supply network just to name a few. If he doesn't want to participate in franchise promotions he should just be an independent hardware store.

We have a Napa like this; I try to never shop there.

So I really wanted the $20 set of plastic folding sawhorses. Apparently my Ace had no intention of opening early for BF and I had no desire to sit in the parking lot for 1.5 hours after hitting HD. I came home and was seemingly able to order online at the $20 price for store pickup. We'll see

Stopped in my Ace. They had the Black Friday ad on the counter with about 90% of it crossed out with black marker. They're not observing any of the good deals. I guess that explains why no one was shopping there. Tossed my Ace Rewards card in the trash can outside.

Nice! Again, if they want to be like that just become Uncle Grumpy's Hardware with no franchise affiliation.

My local Ace Hardware is a Stihl Dealer. They allow the Ace discounts on Stihl Accessories like chains, 2 cycle oil, files, gloves, etc. Getting anything Stihl for 20 or 50% off is a deal.

Interesting. My Ace DOES exclude Stihl from such promotions but I'm ok with that; such exclusions are commonplace with store wide coupons and discounts.

I picked up both sets of GearWrenches. For less than $2 a wrench, they will be worth having around.

That's what I bought last year. Can't think of much this year. Their prices are so high that it's usually cheaper for me to buy elsewhere.

Wifey and I just scored some great deals using the coupons and Amex small business promo:

Large curved jaw Vise Grips:
$19.99 - $10 coupon - $10 Amex credit = $0

Wilde 36" pry bar:
$24.99 - $12.50 coupon - $10 Amex credit = $2.50

General Tools Reamer:
$18.99 - $9.50 coupon - $9.50 Amex credit = $0

Ace Mapp Gas Torch Kit (from Sweden):
$40 - $15 coupon - $10 Amex credit = $15
(manager did an override and applied the $15 even though the item was >$30)

Last year my local ACE refused to take my 50% off coupon. Even after I had them mixed a gallon of paint for me. They only offered to give me 20% off, which back then Amex was giving away $25 credit. So I still ended up getting the paint for free.

I figured I would give them another try this year. I bought the Channellock 357 pliers (which were $10 more expensive than Amazon) . This time they did take my 50% off coupon.
My total was $14.58 - $10 Amex credit = $4.58
If it wasn't for Amex, I would had never bought anything in that store.

Where are you guys getting these coupons and credits??
