I am not above buying the odd tool on ebay, or even whole sets if it is something I have been looking for. You will pay more, but some times you can't resist!

Beats the **** out of running all over to garage sales full of dishes, ash trays and cloths, for that one in a hundred spot that has some treasures. Occasionally I'll hit a garage sale if the road ends and there it is, but I don't waste my time hunting them down. I did hit a great sale today. Older woman with a bunch of vintage shop tools including a huge Delta drill press to die for. Husband had just passed away at 90. She was contemplating selling the drill press for $200. I told her that the drill press was worth more than $200. She's holding some SK tools for me. Be going down this week to gather my prizes.
