It was a good day!!

Did you ever have a day when things just went right. I was cleaning up the shop and decided to tackle an old cabinet that has been stuffed full of odds 'n ends over the years. After a few minutes of cleaning I come across an old toolbox that I used decades ago as a small road box. All these years I thought it was empty -- well it wasn't.

Opened it up and I find some nice vintage 50's/60's 1/2" drive tools.

Plomb and SK breaker bars, MAC and New Britain extensions, and a great looking Armstrong ratchet.

Lesson learned -- go out and check your old boxes and cabinets. You might find useful tools that you completely forgot you owned.

I just finished cleaning that old Armstrong ratchet and put a little lube in it -- WOW!!! super smooth. I don't know what I was thinkin' when I put that ratchet in a road box.

Nice find that you already owned. I just picked up a Plomb breaker bar (though not in as good of shape) and was just amazed at the ingenuity. Between the round hole for a tee bar with detent ball and the square hole in the end for a ratchet, it is designed so well. I really liked that the cross hatching on the handle is worn almost smooth in two spots. Show it was used which is exactly what I gonna dowith it.

I dont like that they butcher the frame, and since the Impala got popular with the gangsters they have become outrageously expensive even for a rust bucket.
