I've been using the same crappy 4x6 HF bandsaw for a few years now. It's worked, but it's marginal at best. For some reason it cuts solids really straight, but just wanders really bad on tubing no matter what I do. Anyway, I had a Di-Acro corner notcher that I never really use. I don't have a shear and pretty much just cut anything I could need on the plasma table. So I put it up for sale and mentioned in the ad I'd trade for some other tools. Guy hits me up wanting the notcher and has a Rockwell 7A horizontal he wants to trade straight up. Done. Went to pick it up Sat night, turns out it's the same guy I bought a drill press off of a few years ago.

So then, after I get back with my new toy Saturday night, I'm cruising CL and see a Jet 1018 saw for $400. Well, hot damn. And 10 minutes from my house to add some icing. Text the guy at 11pm and tell him I'll take it. He texts me back this morning at 6 and I go to pick it up. Score.

So, now I have two saws. Not sure which one to keep. May keep both. The Rockwell has a fine 24T blade in it. May just keep that and use it for thinner tube and use the Jet for hogging off bar and plate. 1" .035 blade, variable pitch, not sure exactly the count. Needs a bath and a few little things, but cuts pretty damn well. Space is at a premium, but it's like trying to decide which child you love more.
