It is a What is it thread but only sort of.. I know now but I'm not saying yet..

I bought it this morning at a boot sale for £1 and the guy selling said his Dad was a plumber and used it a lot.. then he showed me how it works..

It's pretty cool and before today I'd never seen one..

so what do you think.

Lee: i was thinking a pie crust cutter with the wood handle until i read your comments. so maybe early 1900's plumbing tool is it? i wonder what he was cutting? maybe rubber gaskets? or did it put holes in the edges of rubber pipe for the glue to help hold the joint. just spit balling as you can tell so tell us after you see a few of us do this.

cheers

Hold it........is the blade actually not a blade, but rather a sprocket to use with a crank handle to help with the pipe bending?

Hmmmmmmmm, I love these types of things! LOL....

It's actually a floorboard cutter.. set the depth to avoid cutting anything else below, press the two anchor points into the surface of the board then saw.. once through move it back or forward to re position then go again until the floorboard section is cut loose and can be lifted for access..
