prices went up this black Friday instead of down. digital caliper price doubled. work bench went up $20. 44" box same price as everyday. the box is a gem though, for the regular price.

I noticed now HF has the price listed as "comp price", instead of regular price. I guess they had potential legal issues because the regular price was fictitious, and the sale price was the regular price.

I would say the prices are wrong. Whether the items are correct is unknown.

HF usually gets through their parking lot sale then releases the BF ad.

HF never has an especially good Black Friday sale.

Which I think is a good thing -- I don't feel I'm missing out on a good deal, and their employees don't all have to work over the holiday.

That looks kinda fake to me. Like someone just screen shotted their current website and put it together. Every Item I've checked the price listed there is the current website price. I don't know if it is fake but I'd probably wait a bit.

I don't think I've ever bought anything from HF on Black Friday regardless if it's a real ad or not. Their usual sales are pretty lack-luster on that day.

I could drive to HF now and get half that stuff cheaper than the ad

Once you hit a certain amount of tools the BF ads start to loose their luster. They can be good for buying cheap consumables though like saw blades and bit sets

That is what I am waiting for, I got a 10" crapsman direct drive saw for $20 a while ago that needs a new blade. I am hoping hd has the $10 for 2 avanti 10" blades, I am going to rarely use the saw so $5 a blade sounds good to me. Besides that I have been waiting for the ryboi impact and drill to hit $99 again.

Man, I bought so many bit sets AFTER black friday last year getting all the leftover deals. I was trying to give two to my dad, and he was resisting. I showed him the stack I'd accumulated, and he said "ohh, ok,thanks!".

Are BF deals really worth the hassle? I am hesitant to go to a jampacked store for a few pennies off. Maybe at sears where i can order online and pick up in store. I dont want to have to fight oer the last in stock item i was after.

I've been successful in using citi pricerewind on larger doorbuster deals in the past - something to consider if there's something particular you are looking for.

no they are not, I do have a system that works for me on some BF items. They might not apply for garage items.

Wal-mart Items I been lucky going around 8 or 9am on that Friday. Always find most of the **** people go nuts on Thursday night. I like going around this time because it is late enough where the craziness from hours before is not bad and early enough where the zombies are still in bed.

This works at kohl's too since they open Thursday night. home depot and harbor freight don't get to crazy around here on friday. Menards/sears/fleet farm/ best buy and shopko forget it.

edit: last year fleet farm was offering a free gift card with purchase over 100$ for the first 100 people. Cant remember if it was a 25 or 50$ gift card. I just remember waiting in line for hours because there computers had problems issuing out the gift cards... never again.

The tool stores are not usually crazy like Target, Best Buy, or Walmart. Every time I have went I could have picked up any deal that day or later. Don't get me wrong a few sell out. You can get decent appliance deals though.

There's not a deal good enough anywhere to get me to leave the house on BF, or any time between then and Christmas.

Especially when you can get the same deals online, with access to every store's sales, without leaving your couch. Most online Black Friday/Cyber Monday deals offer free shipping too

It's legit. I have a paper copy right next to me right now. Picked it up when I went through the local store this past weekend.

I usually go get something on black friday, never does it entail stampedes of people or long lines. In general, it's like any other day if you don't go for "door buster" type items.
