Well it arrived, I'll post more pictures later. I ordered this in 25" deep configuration because this is my rolling service cart. I have a 3018HSL half side locker in black coming in, I am fabricating a 25" x 25" side shelf that will be an exoskeleton of 1-1/2" sqaure tubing with a 1/4" plate top that will be powder coated. The shelf will be 8" lower than the top of the box so that Wilton vise that will be mounted on the shelf at a decent working height.

That's a sharp looking box. I like the 3 full width drawers. Is that box available in different depths?

Isn't this the one that's a week late and the dealer told you was damaged?

That is a nice looking box.

Yes, I'll post a pic of the damage. It is on the upper left front right under the stainless top. As to depth, it is available in 25", 28" and 31", I went with 25" for ease of fitting around equipment. My other box at work is a Snap On KRL1001B which is full, but being 29-3/16" deep its too big to fit some places. I'll post pics of the drawers a little later.

All of the impact sockets are Proto except for the Lisle/Snap On 3/8 drive holder which has DeWalt deeps (thin-wall) and Bonney std)
IMG_5043.jpg

All of the 1/2" and 3/8" drives are Wright, 1/4" drive SAE is SK and 1/4" drive Metric is Armstrong

So long as you don't mind me asking, what profession are you in. You seem to have quite an array of tools that I can't pin on any one profession. That said my experience is limited lol

Very nice how do u like that bosch sawzall? Im in between the bosch or a milwaukee

I like it best, I have the DeWalt 18 volt, the Hitachi 18 volt, the Makita 18 volt and the Milwaukee 18 volt. I have two of the Bosch's, I keep one at home, same with the Bosch 18 volt circular saw.

Its been shown here on GJ before that the Snap On 18 volt recip is made by Bosch.

Beautiful set up. Are those burgundy screwdrivers Gearwrench/KD Tools? If so was wondering how you liked them, was thinking about getting those on Amazon for everyday/lend out screwdrivers. I just got some Wera screwdrivers and plan on buying nicer german or US mad drivers but wanted a set that was decent and inexpensive to put to my new boxes.

Thought they were a good deal at $33 + $14.95 shipping for 19 drivers.

Hey Grooveking. How do you like the 3 piece Cornwell roto ratchet set? 72t or 100t? I have the 72t set and love them and wanted to hear someone elses opinion. Also the Fluke 233 I have been wrestling with buying one and would like to hear your opinion on it. You and I do different jobs but the premise is the same being in 2 places at once

Yes they are Gearwrench, I bought them through Cripe Distributing. I dig them, at first they seemed a little weird but the more I use them the more I dig the handles. I too bought them for those times where I know the Witte/Matco's may be damaged.

DON'T BUY THE CORNWELL's!!!!! They are 72 tooth, they are good ratchets, but they are made by Tekton and you can buy all three for less than $61. Cornwell has had a a deal as low as $169, but my dealer who was a theif originally told me $199, then when I went to pick them up they were $299. I was never on account with this douchebag since I always had to drive to see him, which was 15 miles from my house, so I paid cash for them, yes in a fit of stupidity. Then I found out that Cornwell was going to have them on sale in 2 weeks for $199 which my dealer too knew of this before. In researching the price I found that Cornwell has them on sale no less than 4 times a year.

The other pisser was the fact that no where did it say made in China until I took the plastic off of the tray/cover and under where Cornwell put their sticker on the bottom was "Made in China". So all in all a bad experience, decent tools. So between the POS salesman and the scam you bend you over marketing hide the COO techniques by Cornwell I will not deal with them.

The Fluke is good but it eats batteries, both the meter and the display take batteries. They are one of the two standard issue meters my companies hands all of the techs. It is a good policy, they do it because Fluke meters are built to spec, many other name brand meters may say 600V rating but that may be for only a few components. Having the remote display is the cat's ***, you can hook your meter to a circuit and then walk over to the control panel and press a switch and see what happens electronically in real time. Especially great for mimiizing arcflash/arcblast hazard for yourself.

Groove King,

Do you have any pictures of your "main box" fully loaded? Also who do you like for impact Wright or Proto?

I would go with Wright, the Wright sockets are better finished and I've had problems with the Protos in that their flank drive is excessive too the point where nuts or bolts will literally get jammed in the socket resulting in having to put the fastener in a vise and using a long taper or pin punch to drive it out of the socket. Never had that issue with the Wrights.

At home I Wright impacts in my Waterloo service cart. I have Matco impacts at home, which were from the early 80's and those were actually made by Wright for Matco back then.

Here are some of the Matco's, they've been ridden hard and put a way wet a few times, but never broke one, great sockets.
ToolPolisher.jpg

I'll have to get updated photos of my main box, it loaded with Proto chrome and more in the top drawer, a selection of Hitachi nailers, wood working tools, router, worm drive saw ,routers, some Milwaukee M12 stuff ( pic below) a bunch of other power tools, a Ridgid power pipe threader, pipe dies, a whole bunch of Irwin XP600 bar clamps, 50", 36", 24", 18" and 12" - 4 of each. A drawer full of temperature probes, non-contract tachometers, high voltage probes, megger, Fluke oscilloscope, and a bunch of other stuff. I have two Kennedy chests on top, a 11 drawer machnist and a 6 draewr mechanics check full of cutting tools for milling and turning.

So what did they end up doing about the damage.

I'm getting a free half side locker, the 3018HSL, which is $798, the reason I chose that was it will allow me to mount it 7.75" lower than the top of the box so that my Wilton vise will be at a good working height. I originally got a pretty good deal on the box.

I have the cornwells already. I paid 149 because they were returned but never used. The website says they are made by Pofessional Tool Products and If I remeber correctly the box I had said Taiwan. I also believe they make the Mac versions as well. I have been going back and forth with getting a 233 or just a regular 117 or 115. I think the remote display would be very handy and worth the extra money. I love the box by hte way. The only thing that would make it better is if the black on the box with brown. Or all orange with a brown and white stripe down the middle, I didnt see that option on the box builder part of the site

Updated a few drawers, of note I'll be bringing in 4 more sets of wrenches, 2 sets of Williams USA stubbies(SAE & Metric) and some SK. The Craftsman nutdrivers will go home next week once my Matco/Witte nutdrivers arrive. On the socket drawer all of the Lisle holders will be going to the KRL1001B and another aluminum sheet with socket racks for the chrome sockets.

You got the drawer liner in your wrench drawer all wrinkled.

Yes I know, I need to remove it, when they I received the box they ship you enough drawer liners as if you spec'd out the maximum number of drawers, so for me I ended up with a surplus. So in the wrench drawer there are actually two drawer liners, one on top of the other and through moving stuff around I ended up with a few wrinkles. It'll get straightened out, I'm not **** about it enough to worry, the tools won't slide and the drawer's paint is protected. Drawer liners are somewhat disposable, my old box went through over 5 sets in its lifetime.
