Thank you. I am very thankful and blessed to have it.Nature hates a vacuum and all that. But what you have is really, really nice. Envious.
So when we finally got down to building our 30x50 the construction costs were coming in way higher than expected. The structure had to be conventional house type building - no pole barn / metal buildings allowed in our zoning. So I started looking for ways to cut costs and told my wife we could save decent money if I removed the bathroom and separate slop sink along with the plumbing, water heater, etc for same. She said "are you ******* crazy!!! You think you are going to be coming into the house all greasy and dirty to use the bathroom or wash up after all day out there"!!! LOL.After five grueling years of no cover at all, I was fully prepared to build a minimal two-car garage ( as anything would be better than nothing), but the wife refused to let me build anything less than the initially daunting and increasingly expensive 40x60 I told her I needed.
We are adding on to the 40x60 next year.
That is the one thing I didn't spend the money on: plumbing. It would have been quite expensive to get to the existing septic (if the town had even approved it), and the water would have been $$, too, due to the entire backyard being a septic and drain field. I am careful not to get anything greasy in the house. It's not a big deal. I have a little elbow room (no neighbors behind) outside to take a whiz behind the shop.So when we finally got down to building our 30x50 the construction costs were coming in way higher than expected. Heat, AC, Plumbing Internet and TV make it just such an enjoyable place to be year round and on the occasion the wife is not happy with me.That is the one thing I didn't spend the money on: plumbing. I’ve been sickly for the last couple weeks and have been camping up in the shop. She thinks I’m doing her a huge favor by leaving the house to sleep in the shop so she can sleep good in the house but I sleep better in the shop than the house lolHeat, AC, Plumbing Internet and TV make it just such an enjoyable place to be year round and on the occasion the wife is not happy with me.
Just like no one on their deathbed wish they'd spent more time at work!Nobody ever wishes that they bought a smaller building.
