Nice saw and real handy. I think we used them much more decades ago.
My buck saws are tensioned like that..my butcher saw is also lever tensioned,,,little different

Agree it's not most common method, but I've seen them before. Some had notches so it would slide for different length blades.

Same style tension lock for bow saw for tree branches.

My craftsman tensions very similar, not sure of the part number but it is black and gold
