Although Iver Johnson got his start in the manufacture of his famous Guns along the way he also produced bicycles and tools that go along with them.

He was born in Nordfjord Norway back in 1841, he was educated as a gunsmith in 1857. Around the time of the American Civil War in 1863 he had immigrated to Worcester Ma.

In 1871 he joined Martin Bye to form Johnson Bye & company; the company name again changed in 1883 to Iver Johnson & Company. Another name change in 1891 to Iver Johnson's Arms & Cycle works. After which time he died in 1895 and his sons took over the business, that lasted till 1993.

The pictures are not the best from my old hands but you can see the small 6" Iver Johnson Adjustable Wrench on top of those yellow sticky pads for a size comparison and also next to a computer mouse.

Don't have any Iver Johnson tools but I do have a knife made for them(by J.Russell Co) circa 1930. The knife is the bottom one in the picture;the other with a similar handle is a Union Cutlery Co (now KA-BAR) in Olean NY
