Is this chop saw worth grabbing off marketplace for $150 bucks?

Or would I be better of just getting this modern M18 for $275?

I’d probably go for the vintage model saving $125 bucks or more with bargaining. I’d guess it runs quieter, is more rigid in setup and has a speed more for cutting ferrous materials. The Milwaukee looks like a regular chop saw. Plus, if you are cutting aluminum you can just use your regular chop saw. Just make a zero clearance fence and run the smallest blade your saw will accept. (That slows down the surface feet per minute)

Thanks for your input. It looks to me like the Richards' saw is an old version of this Kalamazoo K7B

They are nice saws and built like a tank. The question is what size of material are you cutting. The Kalamazoo K7B is rated for 1” diameter max for solids and 2” max diameter for pipe. Is that large enough for you?

It also uses a non reinforced 7” diameter blade with a 1/2” diameter arbor hole. Kalamazoo sells the blades ( Kalamazoo Ind. KAB7N) but I am not sure who else does. $105 for a box of 10
