I've always had this bench grinder in my basement for as long as I can remember. Today I started a restoration project on it and have got it almost all the way disassembled, except it won't come apart. I have taken the screws that go through it from side to side out, but at some point someone repainted the outside of it and didn't tape anything off so I believe it's still stuck together with some of the paint. I'd submerge it if it didn't have electrical in it, or try heat but I also don't want to damage it.

so i figured why not ask the collective GJ.

I'll get a pic up in a minute if I can figure that out too.

thanks

blue line represents the place where the screws go through, Im holding one as reference on the there side from the line.
The red line is one of the seam lines I'm thinking is gummed up with paint. Not sure how to proceed without damaging so asking first!

Are the bearings holding it together? Snap rings? I'd say you need to do more dissassembly first!

pretty sure i can't see the bearings yet. the collets or whatever they're called that hold the grinding wheels flush seem attached to the cross bar that goes thru it. not sure how to get them off other than a maybe a gear puller. no snap rings, but thanks for the reply mr fix it!
