So about two years ago there was an estate sale five minutes down the road. Going through the basement I found a grey wooden box (i'll get pics later) which I thought maybe was WWII. I liked it so I opened it up and there were a few random tools sitting in it. At the time I didn't think anything of it since I barely had any tools but I left them in there and I never used it until today. So I got curious and just started looking it up now. Thoughts, opinions?

It reads: ON S-50 J.H. WILLIAMS & CO. BUFALLO N.Y.
reverse side reads: OFF DROP FORGED IN THE U.S.A.

Its 1/2" drive and you have to flip the handle around 180* to reverse action

I don't really have a use for a 1/2" drive but I will say when I used it it felt really good in my hand. I don't know if thats just from reading up on wrenches in here and letting it go to my head haha.

Someone here can probably give you an exact date, but I can tell you that I have a similar tool that belonged to my grandfather! (Not quite the same, but close).

His certainly was wartime production, and reached the U.K. as part of lend/lease. I have all the sockets to match too, they were the first SAE tools in the family, and acquired to service the U.S. built trucks that were appearing here in that era!

You're right about it being a comfortable tool! My dad used it well into the 80's for the same reasons!
