I could not find much info on these but I think they are from the 1800s. I was at a sale today and the guy had high prices, like $10 for yard sticks. Glad he didn't know quality vintage tools as these set me back $1. Like I said not much on them but I did find out they are out of NYC.

That is the question. I bought a new Starrett because you have to own at least 1 perfectly square tool to check all the others with.

Yes still square but there is some surface rust on them.

No you dont put the square on the end of your bench and scribe a line .Roll the
Square to the opposite side.your scribed lined will be dead on if the square is at
A perfect 90 degrees
