Jack Help (Walker rebuild)

Need a little help with new u-cup from kit. Does not appear to be the same as the existing part. Need to know how to install on piston pump assembly. Original part has a metal cup washer and is a two piece part under the clip, new part has a flared edge on one end and I would guess it is directional and must be installed one way or another. Do not want to assemble and be wrong.

Okay, to all who viewed without seeing the pictures, look again, they have made it.

The original Seal used in your Jack was a Leather Ucup (I believe), Similar to this one, Only Smaller. The Purpose of the Metal ring was to keep it seated against the Plunger base on the Upstroke.

It looks like your Seal provider replaced it with Poly Ucup. There is Nothing wrong with that seal type except it has a much More agressive Flare. The proper installation would simply be the Flare end Out, Basically the Ucup has a Flat Backside and then the Opposite end is Flared. Remove the Old seal and install the New seal with the Flat portion against the Flat portion of the Pump Piston. I would also check to see if the Old Metal washer will fit inside the Poly portion like it did on the Old seal, this way you can secure it Normally.

Thanks Hiball. The part in question is the piston pump at base of the jack. Not the leather cup on the internal ram. I did get the leather cup style in my kit. The part that is different is shown in my pictures along with the piston plunger. Take another look please.

Yes.. Im talking about he Pump Piston Seal, The one still installed on the Old Piston appears to be a Leather Ucup and the New one (Laying Next to it) is a Poly Ucup.
