Jack oil, do you change it?

I have a Craftsman 2 ton aluminum jack that has worked very well for me. I bought this when Sears had just started selling this aluminum jack (maybe 10-12years ago) and I remember reading lots of posts about it leaking. Mine never has and only gets used a few times a month and I have never changed the oil. Is this something you do and worthwhile?

Unless it somehow got water in, I don't see a reason too. Most of mine leak some so I just add.

I can't imagine that there's enough metal wear that would collect in the oil that would make changing the oil beneficial.

jack oil will break down over time. If you think it has lost some of its lift capacity it might help to put in new oil.

Change it every 3,000 miles.

Generally more Chinese jacks will leak it out and you will have to put new stuff in before you need to change it.

My Rockford tools floor jack turns 36 years old this summer and I plan on changing the oil for the first time. Just for the hell of it.
