The cheap solution if take a piece of 4x6 and cut a wide deep groove in it.
The even cheaper solution is I put a block of wood just inboard of the pinch weld at the jacking location and lift from there. Have been doing this for years.

With a rubber pad on your jack, you can place it under a crossmember and get one end of the car up in one go, whole car up in two.

of course, this doesn't work so hot on low cars. ;)

let us know how it turns out once you put them to use. Thanks

Here I am: perfect fit, looks like they will do what they promised just fine.

Those ESCO Jack Stands, where are they made? Seeing mixed answers on Amazon.

The ESCO are made in China. They were made as a copy of the now out of production AC Hydraulic jack stand 3000-NG1or SG1 can't remember now, that were made in Denmark, the jacks are still made in Denmark.

On our "modern" cars, I don't mess with the pinch welds. I use Esco (flat topped) 3-ton stands under structural members. To lift the cars, I have a rubber puck that fits on my trolley jack, and lift on the front or rear crossmembers.

I bought a pair of Esco jack stands from Amazon a couple of years ago to work on my Tacoma because the front lift points on the frame are too wide for the saddle on a standard jack stand. They're made in China and quality is so-so but they work great.

I had Amazon replace the first set I ordered because the top plates were welded crooked but the replacement set wasn't much better. Like all jack stands from China they look like they were welded by a 10 year old but they work just fine. The tripod arrangement of the legs makes them easy to use on uneven pavement.

I have had a car fall off a jack stand on a soft driveway so this is appealing
