Hello,

I have my dads old jack stands which are tall and great to work with because of that, but they do not seem very sturdy and honestly make me nervous that it's going to tip over. they also have the pin to hold them in place -not sure if thats good or bad these days. I also have a set of newer jack stands that have the gear/ratchet lock mechanism, and they seem sturdy, but not very tall...

I am going to be in the market to get new jack stands soon, and want something very strong, tall and sturdy.

what do you guys recommend out there? use is mostly going to be a 60s porsche 911 or 912, vw bugs and busses, my 2000 bmw 328I, and possibly even an SUV or truck at some point (need something to haul supplies from hardware store and possibly tow a car but dont plan on getting that for at least another year).

i dont want to break the bank but i dont want to risk my life..

The HF jack stands that I have are good quality for the money, but others have issues with them being sourced from china. I'd rather made in USA, but for the money vs how often I use them, I can live with it.

Thanks! not opposed to HF if its good stuff (and i know they can be a mixed bag). more importantly since i will be under the cars and a failure could be fatal i was worried about HF.. thanks for confirming they're ok.

open to any other suggestions as well.
