Jack Tray for a Bendpak HD9-XW

I have a Bendpak HD9-XW 4 post lift. The Bendpak jack tray is over $300 and is a little narrow for my preference.

Has anyone made their own jack tray? Any recommendations on what gauge or thickness of steel to fabricate one out of?

I got the BP one included and it's a HEAVY gauge steel fer sure!!!!! I hear you on it being narrow though! I ended up getting a sliding jack for it - it's the way to go. I'd give you my jack tray, but the shipping would be hundreds!!

If I was to fab one, I think 1x2 rectangular tubing under a plate would suffice. 2-3 lengths across, a lip to go into the ramp slot and maybe a 12-14g plate would be plenty.

Local auto shop used a piece of 10-12 inch channel iron. The ends were notched to fit over the rails.

Wasn't that sliding jack expensive?
I have the heavy duty tray & have been looking for a low profile bottle jack but I can't find one.
Any ideas?

On one of the corvette forums I saw a guy using low profile scissor jacks on the jack tray. It seemed to work well. I think there may even be some hydraulic scissor jacks available.

I've seen electric scissor jacks - could be handy. The sliding jack retails for $1500.oo

I welded a socket onto a scissor jack and used air impact gun to raise it. I think that would work slick on a lift. I used it until I replaced my old floor jack.

That is a great idea. I already have air supplied to the lift to work the locks so running an impact gun would not be a problem. Thanks!!
