Jacking up a motorcycle on vinyl flooring?

Hi, I have the rubber coin flooring in my garage. I noticed my 350 lbs motorcycle kickstand (which is not the most narrow kickstand out there) will dent the floor at least temporarily. I put a metal baking sheet under it and hopefully that will fix that problem.

The jack with a motorcycle seems like it would also at least temporarily dent if not damage the floor permanently. The FAQ does state it can support jacking a car, but I don’t believe it. It would cost me $650 to find out...

So anyway, what’s the best surface to put the jack on top of when jacking up my motorcycle? Plywood? Metal sheet? Plastic sheet? Rubber? Something that won’t get damaged or cut into the floor with its edges (e.g. sharp metal edges) would be ideal.

If you have any tips from experience I would be very grateful. Thank you.

Not sure what product you are using. Most of the patterned flooring is PVC as opposed to rubber. We sell the G-Floor product and suggest using a piece of plywood with that product. Weight is not really the issue so much as having a 'point load'

I have Racedeck and keep a few squares of scrap plywood for jackstands, etc.

Never an issue. No damage.

I don't use anything beneath the wheels of rolling jacks, again no damage ever.

Feel free to contact us directly at below for some spare tiles from our overstock area for our www.supratile.com solid PVC interlocking tiles. They absolutely will protect your floor as we have fire engines with studded chains use them to protect floors.

Thank you.

I would use some aluminum sheets with radiused corners. Light weight and easy to store. 1/8” or 3/16” would support any motorcycle or jackstand at the corner of a vehicle.
I have a piece of stainless steel the size of a license plate that I use under the center stand of my Triumph Bonneville, aluminum would work also.
