Haha, Welcome to the beginning of "The Widow Maker" Garage! I decided to name it this because my other have is going to half me strung up by the time this one and the next are complete! :eyecrazy: I am a long time lurker of TGJ but just now ready to post my own!

So here is the making of my personal play pen! We purchased our first house the beginning of December 2013 and it came with an attached single car garage approx. 12'x22' and our lot and land layout has the perfect spot for me to build a detached 32'x28' (within those measurements) detached :) That will be a slow project but will come eventually ;)

Here is the home when we found it in late October of 2013. We had searched since Spring to find the home that fit our requirements and our budget and stumbled across this one. Built in 1978 so it has its dated areas but will be great for my girlfriend, our 10month old and myself to grow into :) Sure beats the apartment life!

This view shows the attached garage. It will become my temporary shop until I can build the detached. Hoping to be able to do some work in there as well! :) Having a home will also save me some storage money! I am currently renting (4) 10x25 storage units housing my vehicles and stuff from my previous home! eeeek. lol

Here is a peek inside one of those units! You can view one of the pieces of equipment in the background, my 6'x3' Powder Coating oven (More info on all this equipment coming soon!) as well as my '99 Ford Ranger pickup bagged and body dropped on 20" wheels. I am a guy with too many projects!

Congrats. Buy a rake! LOL

I spent 12 hours leaf blowing a couple weeks ago. Shortly after getting the whole yard into piles, and dragging leafs to the burn pile.... I decided to burn in place! For the video of this; Find me on Facebook ;) JAKE NANNINGA KABOOOM!

Looking off my deck away from the house you can see the area where the future "Window Maker 2" will be constructed! We live on a large lake here in Missouri so here is the previous home owners fishing boat sitting in the projected area.

And another view of it with my Dad's Silverado parked in the area the boat sat. To the farside of the truck is a retaining wall built to level this area up. It was once a "pond" dubbed Polson Pond by a former owner and filled in before we purchased for insurance reasons. Perfect reason to build over it! :)

I don't think you and I would make good neighbors!

Why is that? :wtf: Current neighbor is a police officer (His Tahoe can be seen in a picture) and the neighbor across from the burn spots is a fire fighter. Usually I'd hate to do that to my yard but the house was on the market for almost a year and no yard work was done. It will be much easier next go around! :)

And what fun is it to post all this without showing some of the toys!? :headscrat

My old '71 Monte Carlo (Traded for wagon)/ My now wrecked (hit by a young ******* her phone) '95 Sportster and my '04 CBR60044

And here are some rough/dark cell phone pictures of the attached garage that I am going to be transforming into "MINE". Once It is fully emptied from the move in/transition period I will take better pictures!

From the Door looking in:

Built in shelf from previous owner. Very sturdy but will have to go!

The Backwall.... This picture was taken to decide HOW I AM GOING TO PAINT IT! :)

My Current Plan:

Rustoleums Professional Grade Epoxy Shield w/ Flakes in the Slate Grey color on the floors. Purchased this already as well as there "Etch Powder" but am also going to do a Muriatic Acid scrub as well to clean all impurities! :)

Here is a stock photo and example of what finish should look like:

I am going to be doing a lot of work in this garage until the WM2 can be constructed so the floor has to be durable and clean looking and I will need light so I guess I have to paint the walls a lighter colors? Probably do the wood trim in a gloss black and the walls white. Any other ideas or input?

I used to own a lot of property near Warsaw Mo. The terrain around your house brings back memories.

Good luck on the garage. Looks like you will have a good helper in a few years.

I'd love to get some info on that powdercoating oven! You didn't make it yourself, did you? I'd love to have something like that - my car's intake plenum won't fit in a traditionally-sized oven.

Finally catching a break with this weather! I have been at a small stand still becsuse it hasnt been in the recomended temps to lay the floor paint out and it is pointless to move stuff in only to move back out. I have slowly been gathering stuff to complete it how I want :) Since I am trying to stay fairly low buck I will start posting a post to follow along on my spending for this project. I have to remember the rule "If mama aint happy, nobodys happy" and get her stuff done too! ;-)

Been awhile since I posted here but really there have been no updates other than squeezing the Ford Ranger in for a couple months and the garage becoming a catch all! :-( I have been swamped with HVAC these last few months snd havent had time to squeeze personal projects in between work and family time.

Today was first progress since last posts. I emptied most of the garage into my 5x8 enclosed and started cleaning it out to get the epoxy flooring done! Then my painting the ceiling/trim/walls and setting up shop!

Goal: "Get something done on it everyday, no matter what or when". One step at a time, progress forward!

The driveway was starting to get cluttered with projects backing up so I need to get the big garage going soon too! Got one of the dead trees we bought with the house dropped. Hillbillys dropped it for $130 :) Plenty of firewood now and still have few more to cut down.
