Well, I got bored last night, and went out and started a project that was long overdue. I organized/cleaned my garage, benches, walls, tools, drawers, etc etc. I know, it's not super fancy, or super clean, like many of the shops on here etc etc. It's not perfect,and needs some work, but I like it, and I'm proud of it. Alot of materials used, where purchased either used, or free, just to save a buck, and I think it ended up working well for me. I spend a very good portion of my time in my garage. Whether it be working on something, or just hanging out, It's where I like to be. So anyways, here's my mancave as of tonight;

Looking at it, I really spent a lot of dang money to get those stickers :p

the chill spot & More drawers/storage. This is where all of my detailing & cleaning stuff goes, along with a drawer of electrical stuff and a random junk drawer;

Yep, it's all heated by a wood stove. We spend alot of time here, just drinkin beers, watching tv, or listening to music etc..

A buddy of mine made it, right after we put the first Big Block in my first 72 nova.

yeah, that's random carpet samples on the ground, & it's a wood stove. I know, I've got alot of **** on the walls, but my folks are storing a bunch of stuff here until their house is built. I'm hoping to paint the cabinets above the benches soon as well as the walls. It's just not a high priority right now, I'm always busy with work and other projects. I'm also looking for a 32-40" flat screen that I'm going to put out there, I'm just not 100% certain if I want to do that yet or not.

Like I said, nothing fancy, but I love it, I've built all my cars/trucks in this small garage & it's treated me well. Not bad for a 24-yearld Bachelor, eh? :cool:

Plus, it was like 6* here in the twin cities las night, and I was out there in my t-shirt, and I was sweating lol. anyways, just felt like sharing. :D

Looks good man. Reminds me a lot of mine. I don't have as much gear in mine, but it's definitely my hang out spot. If you find my thread here, you will see what I have. Shuffleboard, Darts, Kegerator, and work bench. Of course tv, radio etc. My favorite place to be is my garage. I like those signs, except that it says chevy, should say FORD.

Thanks guys. Yeah, the metal signs are a nice touch. Here's a better snap of th "jakes Chop Shop'' sign, which the same buddy made for me a few years back.

He makes all sorts of custom metal signs and decor. I'd post a link to his website, but I don't want it to be considered spam! haha.

did you add the stove in the garage yourself or was it there when you built the house? Any problems with your township approving it? I'm think about one myself..

Sorry for the late reply.

We put it in ourselves, since it is an attached garage, there's no restrictions on adding one, however, for detatched units, there can be issues. You'll have to check with your local office, or a city official to be certain, as I'm sure it varies state to state.

Can I get you a Broncos sticker for your refrigerator? Just kidding. Nice place and definitely not bad for a 24 year old. Love the Goodyear sign!

Nice place. Don't worry about what it cost, or how it compares to others, the important part is you're comfortable and can work in it.

One thing I would change is to raise that stove up off the floor. Without any vehicles in there it wouldn't be a big deal, but an accidental gasoline leak could be a disaster for you. I've had two close friends lose garages and vehicles over the years due to accidents with spilled gas fumes making it to the water heater. One was draining the tank on a race car in his driveway, the fumes made it back to the water heater. He was inside getting a cup of coffee when the house was rocked by the explosion. Another parked a brand new bike in his garage, shut off the gas valve on the gas tank, then went inside for the night. A short time later the garage exploded, most likely from a gas leak in the valve and the fumes again hitting the water heater. He had to make payments on that bike for a couple of years, but didn't have it to ride.

Put the stove on a platform up 18" or more, and it shouldn't be a problem. That way you won't loose those expensive stickers . . .
