Jamestown Adjustable

Hi Everyone. I need help Identifying this adjustable. I cannot find any info at crescent or anywhere else

It really comes down to if there were more than one factory making adjustable wrenches in jamestown at any time. If there isn't, then it's an unbranded adjustable wrench from the old crescent plant.

I have a 4 inch adjustable wrench with the same markings "Jamestown, NY" and "Made In USA" with no brand. I'm searching for who made mine as well. Crescent wasn't the only manufacturer of adjustable wrenches in Jamestown, NY. There was also Proto, JP Danielson, Wm Hjorth & Co, Jamestown Metalsmiths, Jamestown Specialty, and possibly others.

Hi. Nice find. A member sold the same 4 incher here a few years ago but I was too slow. I’ve run into a few of the other sizes.

Hjorth is as good a guess as any. I actually bought one of my Hjorths next to one of those Jamestown, but they were very different. There are several styles of Hjorth and some are similar to that.

Without old catalogs or materials showing the wrench I’m not sure how to come up with a definitive answer.

Based on new information from someone who worked at the Crescent Tool Co Jamestown factory and spoke with old timers while working there, It's very possible this was made by Crescent Forging (Tool) Co in their early years (1903 or 1907-1910) when they possibly only used a "Jamestown, NY" and "Made In USA" stamp before they started using a "Crescent" or "Crescent Tool Co" stamp in addition to.

I am still investigating this possibility.
