Jammed up Faucet Sprayer ideas?

I have a regular Kohler 596 faucet in my kitchen. It has a button on the end of the faucet that lets you switch between spray and straight stream. I guess its jammed up or something because its stuck half way in between the two settings and it is kind of an annoyance.

I have pretty hard water, so I assume its gunked up. I have soaked the nozzle in vinegar overnight and that helped a little bit, and I have also tried the CLR stuff as well.

At the moment I am trying to figure out if I should take it apart and clean it, throw it out, or if I need to replace parts.

Has anyone taken one of these things apart before? I am not sure where to start, but if I can swap a transmission, I should be able to fix a stupid faucet.

How old is the faucet? Asking because I had a part break on my kitchen Kohler faucet and I was pleasantly surprised when I called them to confirm which part I needed and found out it was covered under warranty (which I think is at least 6 years).

I would also suggest calling the manufacturer. Moen has replaced many parts on our now 7-year old faucet for free, most recently about two months ago, and they've been the best company I've had to deal with regarding warranty claims. No questions asked and the parts shipped free. Can't really ask for more from a manufacturer.

Don't ask.
I'd take it apart and clean it out, the aerator end should just turn off (threaded). You may want to soak it (or the parts) in vinegar or CLR, then use a brush (stiff bristle tooth brush).

I've had to take mine apart in my camper (froze the original faucet, bought a fancy one like that to put back in), due to lots of varying quality campground water over the years. the CLR can't always get in there, usually it's a fine coating of iron oxide (rust) that makes the valve stick and not slide smooth.

Considering the major components of the head are obsolete and discontinued, I'd replace it with a Delta...

You live in Florida so your water is heavy in calcium carbonate (CaCO3). Like the OP said, soak the head in vinegar for 1-2 hours. That should dissolve the CaCO3.

I've got that style, only it's a Delta. It has a plastic piece inside to swithc spray/stream. The stupid thing broke, but Delta's are lifetime warranty. I called the company and told them that I no longer have the receipt, but I do have the manual with buy date on it. She told me to take a pic of the faucet installed, and a pic of the manual. They sent me a whole new head, which is getting weak again.
