Hey this is a great site. thanks to all the contributors. I hope to share what I have planned and get some feedback suggestions etc.
I have a disaster of a garage right now, but that is why I'm here
The good news is it is a kind of cool space because it has a 17' high ceiling with a 21'6"x 26'8" floor. It has an 18' wide door which I love as its so easy to enter and park open 2 cars doors without door dinging etc. I toyed with converting to 3 garage doors to park three side by side but it would be tight. Instead, I am going to keep the 18'door and just park two on the floor. Put wall to wall cabinets and workbench down the 'dead' side. Put a lift on the other side. New led lighting epoxy floor and a 96" fan on the non lift side.
My first question is on the lighting. I have 8 T12 8800 lumens bulbs now, for a total of 70400 lumens, with white of offwhite ceiling and walls, bare concrete floor, and I would say the lighting is good. If I am working on car etc I usually ad underlighting now, so I don't see how more ceiling light would help? As I convert to LED, I will plan to have at least 70400 lumens. Maybe a little more as 2 walls will be close to safety blue, and the other two white. ceiling white. floor white or off white. cabinets grey.
I guess I'd welcome any general feedback but I was considering to place the LEDs as in the sketch below. Apologies it is a bit rough. Should I be concerned about the shadow effect from the fan? Any suggestions or guidelines on placement how close/far from fan etc welcomed.
