JC Whitney spark plug socket

Hey, I found this spark plug socket on JC Whitney's website, and I was wondering if you guys knew where it was made? http://www.jcwhitney.com/autoparts/...04269/p-2004269/N-111+10201+600017997/c-10101

It would certainly make the plugs on my familys 93 pontiac trans sport easier to change, but I don't want it if it's **** quality. I would rather do without, or find a suitable, probably more expensive, alternative, than buy junk.

Some plugs go in deep, guess it ***** if you use an extension and it comes off.

The reason behind this socket purchase, is that there's not enough room to get in there comfortably with my hands to unscrew it once its broken free, and the regular plug sockets don't give me enough length to get a wrench around the hex end. A ratchet has worked, with an extension and a u-joint, I was just looking for an easier way, so that I could do it with a long wrench. Also, the plugs are slightly under the top of the block, and at angles, which just makes this even more fun for my father and I. I saw the S&K one, and almost bought it, but I would really like it to have a hex end on it. If I can't find a made in USA one like I want, I will probably buy the S&K, and maybe get my coworker to weld a nut onto the end of it. The S&K from that google search, (which I did, and did not get that one to come up), with the hex end seems like what I want, but I don't know if that's going to be the actual product I receive, or if I'll get the one with the knurling on the end. I really don't want to have to go snap-on/mac/matco etc, since that's pretty expensive, but, if that's the only route, I'll take it to avoid some chinese made stuff. Thanks for all the help/advice, I'll let you guys know what I eventually purchase, and how it works out.

I also bought the HF one, but so far haven't needed to try it. Been a lot of times in the past that I would have liked to have had one like it though instead of using different adaptors.

Ditto the HF one, it seems to work fine for me on my Subaru's (which have spark plugs recessed about 4-1/2" into the head).

Lemme get this straight... you would pay MORE for an SK socket that would then have to be modified INSTEAD of simply buying the "right" tool sourced from China or Taiwan? Okay, I'm all for buying American, but that is just retarded.

Ditto the HF one, it seems to work fine for me on my Subaru's (which have spark plugs recessed about 4-1/2" into the head).

I had no idea HF sold that spark plug socket! I will be picking one up for the 4.6L in the wifes Town Car, it would really help!

Don't bother for the 4.6, you're better off with a regular plug socket and a locking extension.

That is what I have been using alright, but why would this not be an improvement? It always creeps me out thinking what if the socket hangs up and lodges in the hole; this would put that thought to rest.

All my small engines - B&S, Onan, etc. use a 13/16" socket for the plugs too.
