Bought an old CJ that I plan to fix up. 1976 cj5 was my first vehicle and I’ve always been partial to them.
First order of business is repairing some rot. Not much experience so learning as I go. I already cut out some of the floors and side and have some repair panels coming. In the rear wheel wheel area there is some rust coming through at flange lines. The actual wheel well edges curved part still looks ok. To make things easier, I was going to Drill out the spot welds and cut out the side / face metal. I should the just be able to cut a flat rectangle patch and weld in. Am I going to run into problems with that, or is that a viable plan?
