Jeep wrangler help brake caliper?

ok its a jeep wrangler 1989, had a problem with both brake calipers hanging up getting hot, so i bought new ones and something doesnt look right, look at both pics and see the arrows i made, the new caliper on and the old one still on pass side, it looks like the caliper should be behind BOTH points of fixed cal bracket but it doesnt make both just lower on one side and upper on other, the old caliper is the same exact thing, doesnt mean its right though, the 2 pins hold it in place and dont allow shifting up or down . but thats how i installed it same as before, before i go further any body do jeeps and can shed some light on this for me.

those calipers are different than on my axle

i'd guess if everything lines up correctly, then they are on right., but then i'm notta jeep expert

Make sure the piston is all the way back and the pads are seated right. Sometimes ive had to finesse the pad backing plates with a file to get them to fit properly.Just removing a little paint, not metal. Just a side note, Most of my experience with sticking calipers usually leads to replacing the rubber line. If you recently had the calipers off and let them hang by the lines, you probably have a ruptured line letting the fluid to to caliper but not back. If it still sticks, replace the lines. Hope this helps.

I assume you cleaned the pins that hold the caliper on well? Light coat of silicon grease....they should slide easlily....

I had a quick look at mine....yours look right.

Also....make sure the metal is clean where the caliper rubs against the plate. If you look at your first pic...your arrow is pointing right at it....take a wire brush and clean it up....(you will need to take the caliper off)

BTW....did you turn your rotors? The look a little 'rough'....

I would replace the caliper bracket. It is likely bent from the stress and heat of the failure of the old part. both ears are suppose to be behind the bracket.

Are you sure you have the right pads? I just looked at mine again....the brake pads have a tab that sticks out and on top of the caliper...they basically have a slot that matches up with the caliper and slide in that. If that was not lined up properly then I don't see how you could even get the caliper on.

The pads fit in perfect with the groove, the caliber is seated right against the pads, the pins and holes are smooth,, my view was that the caliber didnt hit in both the top and bottom groove in the bracket like most brakes ive done on chevy,ford, those arrows i drew point to where it doesnt quite make the bracket, now the pin bolts hold it in place but just looks like it will make the pads rub. thanks for the help .
