Spent all day cleaning and etching. 52 yr old body says why?
I first cleaned it with some Behr concrete cleaner from HD. That basically did nothing. Tried the muriatic acid and that really lifted the ground in dirt and stains from wet oak leaves during construction. Still took me 3 cycles of etch and rinse. I think it is good shape now. The acid I bought is meant for pools so it was just 17%, so I mixed it 50-50. That got a good sizzle except for where it puddled up during pre-wet. Tomorrow my Epoxy-Coat is due from UPS. Will get up early to apply the backer rod and Sikaflex in the expansion joints. Looks like it just needs 2 hours to dry before the epoxy-coat on.

We usually recommend applying the clear about 18 hours after the base coat. If you wait more than 24 hours, you will need to lightly rough up the surface. PM me or call me (my # is on the website) if you have any other questions. Good Luck with your project!
