I started to watch it. I've seen the host before and don't care for him much. About 10 minutes in, I exited the video but I really wanted to see the box.

I'm stuck at work today so maybe I'll try again later.

Stick-man, the tank guy’s setup was insane, but I think this guy has him beat. I’ve seen about half this episode so far, and the guy’s shop and tools are just insane. Interesting guy as well. Not sure why people are down on the host, seems pleasant enough to me. It seems like such a dumb idea for a YouTube channel, but I admit, I’m more or less hooked.

Oh yeah, this was awesome. I really enjoyed the tank though. And The Retired Speed Shop Owner episode was one of my favorite because he was buying a lot of his tools back in the mid 80's when I started buying Snappy. I have so much of the same stuff, and I understood almost everything he was talking about. He really brought me back to a great time, when I studied the Snappy catalog in school, making a new wish list every week! I used to know a great amount of part numbers off the top of my head. Now I like watching because of the new tools I don't know about, and he gives the info on the tools.

The host is actually pretty knowledgeable about more modern tools. He was a dealer tech for a while IIRC. A lot of the tools in this episode I had never heard of or seen either. Ive been in the business in one way or another since I graduated High School 21 years ago.

It surprised me he didn’t seem to know what knockouts were. I suppose his knowledge may not be diverse.

Meh. That is definitely a specific tool for a specific trade. Not really surprised. I wouldn't know about them if it weren't for this forum lol.

After watching some more of the hosts videos appears he been turning wrenches professionally a dozen years. The tools he wasn’t familiar with weren’t the average mechanics tools.

I've tried watching his videos so many times, but I never seem to finish a video and I don't subscribe to his channel.

Despite the subject matter, there is just something about the guy I can't stand, which makes the videos practically unwatchable.

Your shop is my actual dream. Turn the whole thing blue instead of red, and I'd never leave the garage. You also just have encyclopedic knowledge, and were so fascinating to listen to - I subbed to your instagram and have really enjoyed the little snippets of projects you share there too.

I don't get this. He just seems nice and enthusiastic, and he does a good job of stepping back and giving space to the person speaking while trying to ask encouraging questions to keep their flow going and drive the conversation. He seems very knowledgeable about tools specific to his experience as a dealer tech, and is excited to learn about tools used by mechanics in other fields. I really can't find a reason to dislike the guy. He even encourages investment in affordable tools while making smart purchases in certain quality buy-it-for-life tools alongside them. The guy seems so down to earth and sensible - he owns both a Toolvault and a big Snap-On EPIQ box and seems to really understand the value of both. I'm a big fan of what he's doing and how he's doing it.

I think he he is like a lot of us. He buys some tools at shop closeures, auctions etc... . Just because he couldn't identify one specic tool (no matter how common it is in the electrical trade) should not be a reason to be critical.

Thank you, I appreciate the comments. I have a couple of shop tours on my YouTube channel as well that goes more into the shop and not just the handtools in the toolbox.

I don't know bud. Just something about the guy I don't like. Not sure I could explain it.

It's not a popularity contest. If I don't like a video for whatever reason, I don't watch it. The "tool box tours" guy is just one of many.
