Where was this info when when we could still file? It says " for some items purchased" Which ones? Seriously, the whole basis of the suit turns me off. The idea that a sale item is really not on sale because that is usually the regular price is BS. The consumer should take some responsibility. The item is offered at a price. It is your choice to take it or leave it. Hf has practically everything in sale or clearance all the time. Just how was the plaintiff injured? When I was a kid there were stores in Manhattan that were permanently having " going out of business" sales but they never went out of business. We laughed and called them the Going Out Of Business stores. There has always been a BS factor in advertising. The people that think that entitles them to sue are more reprehensible than the retailer. If they are really that gullible that they need government protection, maybe a responsible adult should oversee their purchases.

Supposedly cost Harbor Freight $23,000,000 for their illegal advertising practices. According to thier website they have 40 million customers, so thats less than $1 per customer

My opinion is a responsible adult should oversea HF advertising department. People quit using coupons years ago and beating somebody is something you did in junior high school

In another thread, there was something about the HF owner buying a $46 million Beverly Hills mansion and a $10 million Manhattan apartment

If you think no one is using coupons anymore than you obviously haven't been to harbor freight recently.

First thing I thought: "Jeff beck, the legendary rock guitarist, shops at habor Freight?"

At the end of the day, the publicity and the additional sales harbor Freight, got for this non-sense, probably made them way more money, than the lawsuit payout.

FWIW, I believe I used 5 coupons, at the last HF visit, kicking myself, because I forgot to use the free ones.

I had the same thought.

I don’t recall all the details because I didn’t pay much attention. I have always been smart enough to understand the $4.95 box of nitrile gloves really was not a $37.00 value.

However, I do believe there was something in that lawsuit that said if you felt you were majorly harmed by HF you could opt out an pursue your own lawsuit. Otherwise, you could simply complete a form and be reimbursed to some degree for damage you didn’t even realize you incurred.

Regarding coupons, I used a harbor freight coupon today when I purchased a box of nitrile gloves. The purpose of coupons it to get you to look through the sales flier at other items they have for sale. The could care less if you actually use them. It is a tried and true marketing technique. There have been some interesting studies over the years on the way a brain responds when a coupon is redeemed. Really weird stuff.

Beverly Hills and Manhattan, good for him on accomplishing his version of the American Dream! It seems to me that his business must be providing consumers a product of the quality they want at a price they are willing to pay.

L5wolvessf, My thought exactly. Jeff Beck, guitar god, goes to Harbor Freight? Love the album There and Back. Beckola at HF. Who could have imagined? This guy should be on a Mount Rushmore like shrine with Clapton, Hendrix , Jimmy Page and Mark Knopfler.

Jeff Beck is a big hot rod guy (builds his own cars) but he'd would have to shop at whatever the UK version of Harbor Freight is.

Add some Stevie Ray Vaughn to those guys and you get - "Pride and Joy and Harbor Freight".

You mess with Harbor Freight, you'll see a man get mean"

Clearly a huge oversight on my part. Add SRV to the Mount Rushmore of guitar gods. I was lucky enough to live in Austin, TX when SRV was learning his trade on Sixth Street.

I do find humor in the fact their checks don't even last as long as their laughable warranties.

The coupon thing is kind of funny. I'll bet I've only used one coupon in the last 30 years, and that was at a store that doesn't exist in my country - Harbor Freight!

It is called running a profitable business. If you think he is too rich or too successful and think you are entitled to a piece of his profits that would make you a Communist or at least a Socialist. I don't care if he has ten houses. It is his money and he can spend it any way he wants. HF is not a public corp. There is no stock. Schmitt owns it all. Good for him. America is a wonderful place. There is always somebody that wants to take somebody else's money instead of earning their own.

I can't add Pete Townshand to the Mountain of guitar gods even though he of course certainly deserves to be there. Here's the reason:
