I tried listing this set on Craigslist and got a few hits but everyone wants to low ball me. There are a few used pieces and a few that are missing (see open spaces in pictures). I tried to price it out by what has sold on eBay and got to about $500 but couldn't find the 1/2" sockets. The box is dirty from body shop filler but I will take that into account.

(Now that I look at the pics the 1/2" flexible is in the wrong drawer.)

I spoke to you on Craigslist, but with the items that are missing it just didn't make sence for me to take your offer. You'll get it sold though, someone looking for a set of tools to get started with should jump all over it.

Its not my business, but I'll go ahead and tell you what some folks are thinking. The pictures you posted make the tool set look like Fido's ****. If you would take a few minutes and clean it up, it may at least look like the tools were taken care of. Nobodys gonna give you top dollar for that set in that shape. I know you didn't ask, but I'm trying to be helpful. Good luck to you.

It's not that they weren't taken care of, it's that they sat for so long, but I understand what you are saying, I did clean it up a bit as you can see there is only dust on the sides of the sockets.

Yes, I am asking $500.

I am not sure if they are supposed to be that color.

Found something that cleans that stuff off well, Purple Power, all the dust is off the top and I started working on the sides, starting to look real nice.
Will post some new pics when I finish.

Mac doesn't have their name on them, but they are exactly the same as the Mac tools, and of course came from the Mac dealer.

That's pretty good, there was one on eBay with a white West Coast Iron Cross on the front, with one missing piece and two used that sold for $1005.

Since you asked. It was a promotional set that is actually Stanley tools. (stanley owns mac) These are the same Stanley Taiwan tools sold at walmart and some re-branded staney tools as Husky at Home Depot. Only yours seem to be without the warranty. They are very good tools. I own a bunch but they are what they are and what they are not is MAc professional tools. I do not even think the price you ask is too bad, but the tool junkies here would be hard pressed to pay more than 200-300 considering you can buy the same set from stanley new for about that or less.

What back2class said. They really arent the same class as the MAC pros. I remember looking at them on the truck when JJ was everywhere. Price was really low for "MAC" tools complete with box. Not much different than the Chicom stanley stuff. Missing parts and One year warranty, long since expired. Should be priced accordingly.

Isn't it against the terms and conditions of use to flame a seller as being priced too high and the such you guys are doing here? If you have a problem with the price, PM the seller, don't go off in his thread posting links to similar sets for less money and telling him he is nuts for asking what he feels is a fair price.

The seller seemed to be asking why nobody was jumping on them. You are right about the rules but in this case I think many of us read that the seller was wondering why they had not sold.

I was merely trying to figure out why there seemed to be no interest here, as I have a lot of people e-mailing me on Craigslist, I figured there was a larger audience here.

BTW I have them for more on Craigslist and am still getting people interested, mostly wanting me to break up the set.

You might actually think about breaking up the set to sell on Ebay. There may be others out there that have "lost" or damaged a piece in their set and would love to replace it. Just a thought.

Breaking it up wouldn't be a half bad idea, but it would be more time consuming, and you might end up making more per piece, but sell 1/3 of the items, and come out with less in the end type thing.

For some reason those sets will pull some top dollar in complete sets and perfect condition. My roommate works for Stanley here in Dallas and when any of these sets come out I always pick one or two up for cheap. I had picked up two of these sets and the first one i sold was about a year ago and I got about $750 for it. I have another set that hasn't even been touched that I am waiting for that right moment to sell
